The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat will return for a second season. The follow-up is scheduled to premiere in January 2027 as part of the winter anime season, six years after the first season debuted in 2021.

Crunchyroll will stream the new season exclusively. In the meantime, the first season remains available on the platform.

The announcement was accompanied by the sequel’s first trailer and a poster. The visuals offer a glimpse of what lies ahead for Lugh and introduce, for the first time, the hero he must stop on his mission.

The story follows an experienced assassin who is reincarnated by a goddess in a fantasy world. His task, however, goes beyond starting a new life: Lugh must eliminate that world’s hero before he brings about the end of everything.

Kenji Akabane returns as Lugh, alongside Reina Ueda as Dia, Yuki Takada as Tart and Shino Shimoji as Maha. The second season also adds Sumire Uesaka to the cast as Epona Rhiannon, and Yusuke Tonozaki as Neusche Gephis.

The main staff from the first season will also return for the production. Masafumi Tamura is directing the anime at Silver Link, with Katsuhiko Takayama handling the scripts, Eri Nagata designing the characters and Kenichi Kuroda composing the music for Lantis.

A specific premiere date in January 2027 has not yet been announced.
