About Icatian Phalanx

Icatian Phalanx, Creature — human soldier, designed by Kaja Foglio first released in Nov, 1994 in the set Fallen Empires and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

A deck that focuses on creating a cohesive and strategic battlefield presence would benefit from including Icatian Phalanx due to its banding ability, allowing for coordinated attacks and defenses. While there may be more powerful individual cards available, the Phalanx's ability to work in tandem with other creatures can provide unique tactical advantages in combat situations, making it a viable inclusion in decks that prioritize synergy and teamwork.

Creatures in the same band must all attack the same player or planeswalker.

If a creature with banding attacks, it can team up with any number of other attacking creatures with banding (and up to one nonbanding creature) and attack as a unit called a “band.” The band can be blocked by any creature that could block a single creature in the band. Blocking any creature in a band blocks the entire band. If a creature with banding is blocked, the attacking player chooses how the blockers’ damage is assigned.
