A deck that focuses on creature tokens or has a lot of creatures on the battlefield would benefit from using Collective Nightmare due to its convoke ability, allowing for a cheaper cost to cast. However, there are better cards like Fatal Push or Dismember that offer more versatile removal options and are more commonly played in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks. Collective Nightmare may not see much play in highly competitive environments but could find a place in more casual or themed decks.
