Diogo Novaes, the eldest son of Marcello Novaes and Pedro Novaes' half-brother, has been cast as the lead in Dra. Perfeita e Senhor Caótico, Globoplay's new vertical-format telenovela. The production is already filming, but no premiere date has been announced.

In the romantic comedy, Diogo plays a writer who crosses paths with Catarina, played by Monique Alfradique. An independent lawyer with a strong personality, she stops believing in relationships after suffering a major romantic disappointment.

Diogo's character brings romance back to the center of the protagonist's life. The story follows the pair as they grow closer while Catarina deals with the scars left by her previous experience.

Although this is his first leading role, Diogo Novaes has already appeared on Globo. In 2025, he appeared in Dona de Mim in flashback scenes connected to Jaques, a character played by Marcello Novaes.

The casting puts the actor at the center of a Globoplay-exclusive production and highlights the Novaes family's ties to television. Marcello Novaes is the father of Diogo and Pedro Novaes, who is also pursuing a career in the arts.

Dra. Perfeita e Senhor Caótico was written by Gustavo Reis and directed by Roberta Richard. The telenovela will be released on Globoplay, but the platform has not yet announced when the episodes will become available.
