FX has confirmed a 14th season of American Horror Story. The renewal comes just before the season 13 finale, but two questions remain: when will the show return, and who will be in the cast? The network has not announced a premiere date for the new episodes. In its early years, American Horror Story typically aired one season a year. More recently, that pace has slowed: AHS: Delicate aired episodes from the second half of 2023 into the first half of 2024, and 18 months passed between its finale and the season 13 premiere. An early renewal does not, on its own, mean a shorter wait this time.No cast members have been confirmed for season 14, either. Actors returning in different roles has long been a hallmark of the show, whose cast has included Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts and Jessica Lange. For now, there is no word on whether any of them will appear in the new episodes. The renewal extends a record American Horror Story already held: the most seasons of any hour-long series in FX history. At 14 seasons, it will have twice as many as The Shield and Sons of Anarchy, which each ran for seven.First, though, season 13 has to finish. Its finale will be the show's 145th episode. If the next season has between nine and 13 episodes, as previous seasons have, American Horror Story will also reach its 150th episode. FX has not said how many episodes it has ordered for season 14.
