About Wandering Champion

Wandering Champion, Creature — human monk, designed by Willian Murai first released in Jan, 2015 in the set Fate Reforged and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

This card would be beneficial in a deck that focuses on aggressive combat strategies while also incorporating blue or red permanents for the card draw effect. However, there are more efficient cards available for similar effects, such as Monastery Swiftspear or Stormchaser Mage, which offer immediate value without the need for additional conditions. Wandering Champion may not see much play in competitive settings due to its reliance on specific board states for optimal performance.

Rules

12/07/18

If you don’t control a blue or red permanent as Wandering Champion’s ability resolves, you can’t discard and draw a card. The blue or red permanent you control as the ability resolves doesn’t have to be one you controlled as the ability triggered.

12/07/18

Wandering Champion’s ability doesn’t trigger if you don’t control a blue or red permanent immediately after it deals combat damage to a player.
