Vampiric Tutor, Instant, designed by Gary Leach first released in Feb, 1997 in the set Visions and was printed exactly in 20 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
A deck that aims to win quickly and efficiently, such as a combo or control deck, would benefit from using Vampiric Tutor as it allows for precise card selection and can set up powerful plays. While Vampiric Tutor is a strong card, some may argue that Demonic Tutor is a better alternative due to its flexibility in searching for any card rather than just the top card of the library. However, Vampiric Tutor should still see play in decks that value speed and consistency.

The “shuffle and put the card on top” is a single action. If an effect causes the top card of the library to be face up, the second card down is not revealed.
