About Tasigur's Cruelty

Tasigur's Cruelty, Sorcery, designed by Chris Rahn first released in Jan, 2015 in the set Fate Reforged.

A deck that focuses on filling up its graveyard with cards would benefit from using Tasigur's Cruelty, as it allows for efficient removal while taking advantage of the Delve mechanic to potentially cast the spell for a reduced cost. However, there are other cards like Mind Rot or Liliana's Specter that offer similar effects for a lower mana cost, making them potentially better choices for decks looking to disrupt their opponent's hand. Tasigur's Cruelty could see play in specific graveyard-focused strategies or as a budget option, but may not be the most competitive choice in a more optimized deck.

Rules

03/19/21

Because delve isn’t an alternative cost, it can be used in conjunction with alternative costs, such as flashback. It can also be used to pay for additional costs that include generic mana.

03/19/21

Delve doesn’t change a spell’s mana cost or converted mana cost. For example, Treasure Cruise’s converted mana cost is 8 even if you exiled three cards to cast it.

Because delve isn’t an alternative cost, it can be used in conjunction with alternative costs.

11/24/14

You can’t exile cards to pay for the colored mana requirements of a spell with delve.

11/24/14

You exile cards from your graveyard at the same time you pay the spell’s cost. Exiling a card this way is simply another way to pay that cost.
