About Impulse

Impulse, Instant, designed by Bryan Talbot first released in Feb, 1997 in the set Visions and was printed exactly in 14 different ways. It see play in 4 formats: Commander, Pauper, Premodern and Brawl.

Impulse is a versatile card that can benefit control decks looking to dig for specific answers or combo pieces quickly. While Impulse is a solid card selection spell, there are more efficient options like Opt or Serum Visions that see more play in competitive Magic: The Gathering decks due to their lower mana cost and additional benefits. However, Impulse can still find a home in decks that require instant speed card selection and manipulation, especially in formats where card selection is limited.
