About Hazezon Tamar

Hazezon Tamar, Legendary creature — human warrior, designed by Richard Kane Ferguson first released in Jun, 1994 in the set Legends and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

A deck that focuses on ramping up lands quickly, such as a landfall or ramp strategy, would benefit from using Hazezon Tamar as it can generate a significant number of Sand Warrior tokens based on the lands you control. While Hazezon Tamar can be a strong card in the right deck, there are other options like Avenger of Zendikar that provide a similar token generation effect on a larger scale, making them potentially better choices depending on the deck's overall strategy. However, Hazezon Tamar can still be a fun and effective inclusion in decks looking to capitalize on land-based synergies and token generation.

Rules

10/01/09

Only Sand Warriors that are actually on the battlefield when Hazezon Tamar leaves the battlefield are affected when its second ability resolves. If Hazezon leaves the battlefield after the delayed triggered ability created by its first ability triggers but before that ability resolves, its second ability triggers and resolves first, then the Sand Warriors are put on the battlefield. Those Sand Warriors will remain on the battlefield indefinitely.

10/01/09

When Hazezon Tamar’s second ability resolves, all permanents with both the Sand and Warrior creature types are exiled, not just the Sand Warrior creature tokens it created. Permanents that have just one of those types are unaffected.
