This Field Surgeon card would be beneficial in a white weenie or aggro deck that focuses on protecting its creatures and maintaining board presence. While it offers a useful ability to prevent damage, there are potentially better options like Mother of Runes or Giver of Runes that provide similar protection with more flexibility. Field Surgeon could see play in more casual or thematic decks, but in competitive environments, other cards may be preferred for their efficiency and versatility.
