About Emiel the Blessed

Emiel the Blessed, Legendary creature — unicorn, designed by Antonio José Manzanedo first released in Jun, 2020 in the set Jumpstart and was printed exactly in 6 different ways. It's a key card in 30 combos.

Emiel the Blessed would be a valuable addition to a Selesnya (Green/White) creature-based deck that focuses on generating value from entering the battlefield triggers and +1/+1 counters. While Emiel's ability to exile and return creatures can provide protection or trigger powerful effects, there are potentially better cards like Charming Prince or Restoration Angel that offer more versatile abilities or immediate impact. However, Emiel could still see play in a deck looking to maximize Unicorn synergy or recurring creature triggers.

Rules

06/23/20

Emiel’s second ability triggers whenever any creature other than itself enters the battlefield under your control, including those returned by its first ability.

06/23/20

When the card returns to the battlefield, it will be a new object with no connection to the card that was exiled. Auras attached to the exiled creature will be put into their owners’ graveyards. Any Equipment will become unattached and remain on the battlefield. Any counters on the exiled creature will cease to exist.

06/23/20

While resolving Emiel’s triggered ability, you can’t pay more than once to put more counters on the creature.
