Breeding Pit is best suited for a black token or sacrifice-themed deck, particularly those that leverage cards that benefit from a steady stream of creature tokens or those that can sacrifice creatures for value, such as Aristocrat-style decks. While it provides a consistent source of 0/1 Thrull tokens, other cards like Bitterblossom or Ophiomancer might be considered better options, as they generate more impactful tokens or have additional benefits. Breeding Pit must actually be on the battlefield at the beginning of the endstep in order for you to get a Thrull. The getting of the Thrull is not part of paying the upkeep, it is part of having the card on the battlefield.
