After more than three years of waiting, Ted Lasso is back. The fourth season picks up the story of the coach played by Jason Sudeikis directly in Kansas City, where he left behind his life in London to be closer to his son, Henry.

[Spoiler]{At the beginning of the premiere episode, Ted works as a cashier at the local grocery store, Fowch’s Fine Foods. His routine changes when Rebecca, Leslie, and Keeley show up at his house. After a reunion marked by joy, barbecue, and plenty of conversation, Rebecca reveals the reason for the visit: she wants Ted to take charge of a new women's team.}

The proposal surprises Ted, who shows uncertainty and decides not to accept the invitation at that moment. After watching one of Henry's soccer matches, Rebecca, Leslie, and Keeley return to the United Kingdom without him. Still, the possibility of returning to the environment he knows remains on the coach's mind.

At home, Ted revisits memories from his Richmond days and, in an unexpected attempt, sends a message to his ex, Michelle. The two agree to embark on a new adventure in England with Henry.

Jason Sudeikis explained that Ted begins this phase focused on being a father, working part-time and staying away from what he experienced as a Premier League team coach. For the actor, the character is rebuilding his relationship with an activity he loves and had been setting aside.

The fourth season also presents Ted's first challenge coaching women. The team includes Boots, twin sisters Niamh and Siobhan, Margy, and her girlfriend Mady. Before Ted arrives in England, the group is led by assistant Alice Chilton, a dedicated leader with little confidence in herself.

Episode 2 will officially introduce the players, while other new faces are expected to appear in episode 3. For Ted, the new role will be an unprecedented mentoring experience, especially because of his complicated relationship with women and his lack of experience guiding girls.
