Piper of the Swarm, Creature — human warlock, designed by Irina Nordsol first released in Sep, 2019 in the set ELD Collector Boosters and was printed exactly in 10 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
A deck focused on token generation and creature control would benefit from including Piper of the Swarm, as it provides a way to create Rat tokens, grant menace to existing Rats, and gain control of opponent's creatures by sacrificing Rats. While Piper of the Swarm has unique utility, there are potentially better cards for similar strategies, such as Pack Rat for token generation and control or Plague Rats for a more aggressive approach. Whether Piper of the Swarm should see play depends on the specific deck strategy and meta, but it can be a fun and versatile addition to the right deck.

The control-change effect of Piper of the Swarm’s last ability lasts indefinitely. It doesn’t wear off during the cleanup step, and it doesn’t expire if Piper of the Swarm leaves the battlefield. In a multiplayer game, it does expire if you leave the game.
