About Herald of Anguish

Herald of Anguish, Creature — demon, designed by Vincent Proce first released in Jan, 2017 in the set Aether Revolt Promos and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

A deck that focuses on artifacts and controlling the opponent's hand would benefit from including Herald of Anguish. Its ability to make use of artifacts for casting cost and its ability to make opponents discard cards can be powerful in the right strategy. However, there may be better options depending on the specific deck's goals and playstyle, such as other demons with more impactful abilities or cards that offer more immediate board presence or disruption. Overall, Herald of Anguish could see play in the right deck, but its effectiveness would depend on the overall strategy and synergy within the deck.

Rules

02/09/17

Because improvise isn’t an alternative cost, it can be used in conjunction with alternative costs.

02/09/17

Improvise can’t be used to pay for anything other than the cost of casting the spell. For example, it can’t be used during the resolution of an ability that says “Counter target spell unless its controller pays .”

02/09/17

Improvise doesn’t change a spell’s mana cost or converted mana cost.

02/09/17

Tapping an artifact won’t cause its abilities to stop applying unless those abilities say so.
