Dismal Backwater, Land, designed by Sam Burley first released in May, 2020 in the set Khans of Tarkir and was printed exactly in 22 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
Dismal Backwater would be beneficial in a control deck that relies on gaining incremental life and mana fixing. While it provides a slight advantage with the life gain and mana options, there are better dual lands available in the Magic: the Gathering card pool, such as Watery Grave or Drowned Catacomb, which offer more flexibility and efficiency. Dismal Backwater could see play in budget decks or limited formats, but in more competitive environments, it may be overshadowed by stronger options.
