Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will run for between 14 and 16 hours for most players. The information was revealed by Jeff Adams, Crystal Dynamics’ director of experience, who also explained that playtime may vary depending on each person’s play style.

That puts the remake close to the length of the original game, released in 1996. According to How Long to Beat data cited in the announcement, the first Tomb Raider takes around 15 hours to complete, while Tomb Raider: Anniversary, the previous remake, lasts approximately 12 hours.

Adams said the team did not try to artificially extend Legacy of Atlantis’s campaign. The goal was to deliver an experience in line with the first game, with a world designed to encourage exploration and spark players’ curiosity. He therefore recommended that players not feel pressured to complete the adventure within a specific timeframe.

The reveal was accompanied by a new trailer showing various locations Lara Croft visits throughout the campaign. The footage revisits elements familiar to anyone who played the original Tomb Raider, now presented with a visual overhaul. The video also highlights the remake’s variety of environments.

Developed by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was delayed and will launch on February 12, 2027. The game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

The adventure will be followed by Tomb Raider: Catalyst, due out in 2028. The title will be the franchise’s first entirely new game since Shadow of the Tomb Raider, released in 2018.
