The second season of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 premieres on Netflix on September 17, 2026. The streaming service has also released the first images from the new episodes of the animated series set in the Stranger Things universe.

The story picks up shortly after the end of the first season. Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and Nikki try to settle back into life in Hawkins, splitting their time between trips to the arcade, the group’s investigations and Valentine’s Day preparations.

The peace, however, does not last long. A new mystery once again brings paranormal activity into the teens’ lives.

The newly released images offer clues about what lies ahead. In one, Eleven is seen using her powers. Nikki appears in a field bathed in an unusual blue light, while another scene shows the group gathered in a candlelit cabin.

The blue flowers, which began appearing in the previous season’s finale, are among the story’s biggest unanswered questions. The phenomenon is expected to play a larger role in the new episodes, which pick up immediately after the first season.

Tales From ’85 is set during the winter of 1985, between the second and third seasons of the original series. It follows the familiar Hawkins characters on a new adventure within that gap in the timeline.

The first season of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 is already available in full on Netflix. The second season arrives on the service on September 17, 2026.
