About Spontaneous Combustion

Spontaneous Combustion, Instant, designed by Doug Chaffee first released in Oct, 1997 in the set Tempest and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

A deck that focuses on sacrificing creatures for value, such as a Rakdos sacrifice deck in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from using Spontaneous Combustion. While it can be a powerful board wipe, there are better options like Blasphemous Act which can deal more damage for a lower cost in certain situations. Spontaneous Combustion could see play in specific metas where sacrificing creatures is a key strategy, but overall its effectiveness may be limited compared to other board wipe options available.

Rules

04/15/13

You must sacrifice exactly one creature to cast this spell; you cannot cast it without sacrificing a creature, and you cannot sacrifice additional creatures.
