About Quiet Contemplation

Quiet Contemplation, Enchantment, designed by Magali Villeneuve first released in Sep, 2014 in the set Khans of Tarkir.

Quiet Contemplation would be a great addition to a control deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a way to tap down opponent's creatures and disrupt their board state while also synergizing with noncreature spells commonly found in control decks. However, a more popular and powerful alternative would be cards like Cyclonic Rift, which offers a more versatile and impactful effect for a similar mana cost, making Quiet Contemplation less likely to see play in competitive decks.

Rules

09/20/14

The ability tracks the creature, but not its controller. If the creature changes controllers before its first controller’s next untap step has come around, then it won’t untap during its new controller’s next untap step.

09/20/14

You decide whether to pay as the triggered ability resolves.
