Marvel confirmed the key cast members for its new X-Men film during D23, Disney's official convention, held early Saturday (15). The film will introduce a new version of the mutant team to theaters and mark the official arrival of a new generation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Christopher Abbott will play Professor X, while Kit Connor will take on the role of Cyclops. Inde Navarrette, known for her work in Obsession, will play Rogue; Sadie Sink will portray Jean Grey; and Maya Boyd will play Storm.

Adam Driver also joins the cast as the villain Mister Sinister. The actor, who appeared in Ferrari and Megalopolis, will be one of the film's main antagonists. Samara Weaving rounds out the confirmed cast as Emma Frost.

The cast brings together actors at different stages of their careers. Christopher Abbott recently appeared in projects such as Wolf Man and East of Eden, while Kit Connor recently wrapped up his run as Nick Nelson in Heartstopper. Maya Boyd also has stage experience.

Sadie Sink will move from playing a telepath in Spider-Man: Brand New Day to the new mutant team. Inde Navarrette recently gained attention for Obsession, while Adam Driver's casting puts an end to speculation that had even linked Brazilian actor Wagner Moura to the role of Mister Sinister.

The reboot will be directed by Jake Schreier, who directed Thunderbolts*, with a screenplay by Lee Sung Jin, creator of Beef, and Joanna Calo, of The Bear. The film is scheduled to premiere on May 5, 2028.
