Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees are set to meet again on HBO Max. Freddy vs. Jason will be added to the platform's catalog on October 1, 2026, according to HBO Max's release schedule for the month.Originally released in 2003, the film brings together the villains from A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th in a showdown between two different styles of horror. Freddy attacks his victims in their sleep, while Jason is associated with Crystal Lake and physical violence.In the story, Freddy faces a problem: people have stopped fearing him, making it harder for him to reach them. To restore the fear surrounding his name, he sends Jason after those victims. The arrangement begins to fall apart when Jason refuses to hand over his targets and continues killing on his own.The conflict combines Freddy's manipulation of dreams with Jason's brutality, creating different threats even before the two begin confronting each other directly. Robert Englund returns as Freddy Krueger in the film.The arrival of Freddy vs. Jason will be accompanied by other titles from the two franchises. HBO Max has also scheduled the original Friday the 13th, 1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street, its next four sequels and the 2010 remake.With this selection, viewers will be able to watch Freddy's first films and the original Friday the 13th before reaching the crossover. Those who prefer to go straight to the showdown will be able to find Freddy vs. Jason in the catalog starting October 1.
