HBO has released new official images of the wands belonging to Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Rony Weasley, Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom for the new Harry Potter series. The magical objects will feature designs different from those seen in Warner Bros.’ eight films, while retaining familiar characteristics from the universe created by J.K. Rowling. The production also revealed the materials, cores and lengths of four wands. Harry’s is made of holly, has a phoenix feather core and measures 28 centimeters. It shares its core with Voldemort’s wand: both contain feathers from the same phoenix and are described by Olivaras as “sister wands.”Hermione will use a wand made of vine wood, with a dragon heartstring core, measuring 27 centimeters. In HBO’s description, vine is presented as a rare material associated with wizards who “seek a higher purpose.”Rony will begin his time at Hogwarts with a wand that was not made specifically for him. The wand measures 31 centimeters, is made of ash and has a unicorn hair core. As in the books, it previously belonged to his older brother, Carlinhos Weasley.Draco Malfoy’s wand was presented as being made of hawthorn, with a unicorn hair core, and measuring approximately 25 centimeters. The official description links the material to the character’s conflicted personality.Neville is the only one of the five characters whose wand details remain undisclosed. HBO has not revealed its wood, core or length, but confirmed that he inherited it from his father. This detail also comes from the books and becomes important to the character’s development. The images show how the series intends to create its own visual identity for elements already familiar to audiences. The new Harry Potter adaptation will premiere on HBO Max at Christmas in 2026.
