MobLand begins its second season on Paramount+ this week, bringing Tom Hardy back to the heart of the crime drama set in contemporary London.

The series debuted on the platform in 2025 and surpassed viewership benchmarks set by Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan’s hit series and one of the service’s flagship titles. Its return comes less than a year after the first season, a shorter gap than that faced by other Guy Ritchie series.

The gap between seasons drew attention in the streaming market after The Gentlemen, Ritchie’s Netflix series, returned around two years after its debut. In the first week of its second season, the show saw viewership fall by approximately 45%.

In MobLand, the structure recalls the model of The Godfather, but transplanted to present-day London. The series remained part of the conversation during its hiatus, although some of that attention stemmed from controversies involving Hardy.

Reports claimed that the actor had been removed from future seasons after a dispute with key members of the creative team. Those reports were later denied after several outlets circulated accounts of the alleged incident.

Long-standing tensions between Hardy and Charlize Theron during the filming of Mad Max: Fury Road were even cited to support rumors about his behavior on set. However, the outcome confirmed that the actor had not been fired.

Tom Hardy will continue as the lead in MobLand, which has already been renewed for a third season.
