Wagner Moura confirmed that he is part of the prequel to “Ocean’s Eleven”, a new franchise production that will star Margot Robbie and Bradley Cooper. The information was shared by the actor in an interview with GQ magazine, published last Wednesday (29).

According to the publication, the film is expected to be set in France in the early 1960s. In addition to acting, Bradley Cooper will also direct the project.

Moura said he is excited to begin work. The Brazilian actor is touring Europe with a play and explained that he will head straight to filming when the run ends on August 11. “They will already be filming, but they are waiting for me,” he said.

The actor also praised Cooper, whom he described as a fantastic artist and director. According to Wagner, their conversations about the film created a strong connection, and the filmmaker’s enthusiasm helped increase his interest in the production.

In the same interview, Wagner Moura addressed rumors linking him to possible projects in franchises such as “X-Men” and “007.” Although he said he finds the attention amusing, he denied knowing of any concrete negotiations.

“I know absolutely nothing about these things, but it is kind of cool, isn’t it? I like it. But as far as I know, there is nothing concrete.”

And the actor’s desired next steps may include a change in tone. When asked about the possibility of starring in a romantic comedy, Moura welcomed the idea and emphasized that he would like to see stories in the genre led by people in his age group.

“I love romantic comedies. It is a good idea—put that in the article and send it out into the universe. Especially a romantic comedy starring people my age.”
