Quentin Tarantino is returning to theaters with a new story set in the world of Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood. The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth will once again star Brad Pitt as the title character, but Tarantino will not direct it. David Fincher, known for films such as The Social Network, Zodiac and Se7en, is directing.

The film will premiere in IMAX theaters on November 25 and begin streaming on Netflix in December. The exact streaming release date has not been announced.

The production also marks Timothy Olyphant's return as James Stacy. Leonardo DiCaprio, however, is not expected to reprise his role as Rick Dalton in the new film. The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth is described as a sequel, but plot details have not yet been revealed.

The story arrives more than seven years after Tarantino's last directed feature. Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood premiered in 2019 and explored the film industry's landscape. The movie had a production budget of US$ 90 million and grossed US$ 409 million at the worldwide box office.

Tarantino has directed nine films throughout his career and became known for movies such as Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Inglourious Basterds and The Hateful Eight. Although he has not announced many details about his next project as director, rumors about a film centered on a movie critic circulated before being debunked.

While the filmmaker has yet to return to the director's chair, Cliff Booth is getting a new adventure under Fincher's direction. Its first release window will be in IMAX theaters on November 25, before the film arrives on Netflix in December.
