Prime Video has announced plans to invest more than US$ 2 billion in Latin America between 2027 and 2030. The funds will go toward Local Original productions, acquiring content produced in the region and sports broadcasting rights in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Chile.

The announcement was made during Prime Video Presents Latin America, an event held in Mexico City. The platform also said the number of Local Originals produced in those five countries will more than double by 2030 compared with 2026.

The slate includes more than 25 new titles scheduled for 2027 alone. It features scripted series, films, unscripted shows and reality programs. The company also announced an expansion of its sports offering, including football, basketball and a new broadcasting rights deal.

Kelly Day, Prime Video's International vice president, said the investment spans different countries and genres, reflecting the growth of Latin American talent, stories and audiences. Javiera Balmaceda, head of International Originals for Latin America, Canada and Australia at Amazon MGM Studios, emphasized the goal of bringing local stories to audiences around the world.

Among the announced titles is the second season of Tremembé. The series returns to Brazil's most famous prison for a new chapter of rivalries and change. Suzane Von Richthofen and Elize Matsunaga move closer to freedom and confront their return to the outside world, while Robinho, Thiago Brennand and Dominique Scharf are among the new inmates who could shift the balance inside the prison.

The platform also confirmed releases for 2026. Barreda and the third season of Betty La Fea: Más Fea Que Nunca premiere on August 28. El Juicio arrives on September 11, Los Tinelli T2 on September 30 and Marília Mendonça: Sentimento Louco on October 16. LOL: Last One Laughing Argentina T3 and the Chilean film Lo Único que te pido are scheduled for the end of the year.
