TV Globo confirmed part of the cast of Avenida Brasil 2 on Tuesday (15), a continuation of the telenovela originally broadcast in 2012. The new production will center on Carminha and bring back actors from the original story.Adriana Esteves will return as Carminha, while Débora Falabella will reprise her role as Nina. Cauã Reymond will also return as Jorginho, as will Murilo Benício, who will once again play Tufão. Eliane Giardini and Marcos Caruso round out the returning cast as Muricy and Leleco, respectively.The announcement keeps the main characters from the first telenovela in the project, whose story placed Carminha and Nina on opposite sides. The sequel will be created and written by João Emanuel Carneiro, who was also behind the original.The production will also feature new additions to the cast. Thiago Rodrigues, Karine Teles, Cris Vianna, Jéssica Ellen, Thalita Carauta and Thomás Aquino have been confirmed for the new story. The characters they will play have not yet been revealed.Avenida Brasil 2 is scheduled to premiere in January 2027. The broadcaster has not yet announced the exact release date or other details about the story, which will once again place Carminha at its center.
