David Ellison, owner of Skydance, has approved the ten-year plan presented by James Gunn and Peter Safran for the future of DC Studios. The meeting took place during a visit to the set of Man of Tomorrow, and the strategy received the green light even after Skydance acquired Paramount.Gunn and Safran remain in charge of DC under the new administration. The approval indicates that the executives still have the freedom to pursue their planned direction for the DCU, which aims to restore the franchise to its position among the leading forces in superhero storytelling and possibly overtake Marvel in that space. The known release schedule also remains largely intact. Clayface is still the DCU's next major project, with its release set for twenty days from now, while Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2027. Fans are still awaiting Batman's next appearance in this universe, but there are no details on when it will happen. There is, however, one condition that could affect those plans. Gunn and Safran's contracts are set to expire in August next year. Should Man of Tomorrow underperform, the ten-year plan could be derailed, although that possibility is considered unlikely.Available information about Man of Tomorrow remains limited, but the project continues to be a central part of Gunn's strategy for the DCU, alongside Superman and his allies. The director has also dismissed rumors about the sequel's cast and characters, including the possibility of Matthew Lillard playing Barry Allen. Even with the change in leadership at Paramount, Gunn and Safran's vision has been cleared to move forward.
