Huh Nam-jun

Heo Nam-jun, also romanized Huh Nam-jun, is a South Korean actor whose growing international visibility has come through prominent television dramas rather than a single long-running franchise. He appeared in JTBC’s 2021 period melodrama Snowdrop, set against the political turmoil of 1987 Seoul. In the series, he played Oh Gwang-tae, an agent of the Agency for National Security Planning. The drama’s ensemble was led by Jung Hae-in and Jisoo, and its setting—an isolated women’s university dormitory caught up in a hostage crisis—made the supporting security-service characters integral to its conflict. His part placed him within the drama’s competing surveillance and intelligence operations.

Nam-jun later joined Netflix’s Sweet Home in its second season, released in 2023. The dystopian horror series follows survivors after people begin turning into monsters shaped by their desires, expanding beyond the Green Home apartment building of the first season to military-controlled shelters and a devastated Seoul. He portrayed Kang Seok-chan, a soldier. That role put him in a production built around the returning characters played by Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook, Lee Si-young, Go Min-si, and Park Gyu-young, while introducing new military and survivor groups. Sweet Home’s second season premiered on Netflix on December 1, 2023, before its third-season continuation.

In 2024, he appeared in The Impossible Heir, a Disney+ Korean drama about Han Tae-oh, an ambitious outsider who joins forces with Kang In-ha, the unacknowledged son of a chaebol chairman, to take control of the Kang Oh Group. Lee Jae-wook played Tae-oh, Lee Jun-young played In-ha, and Hong Su-zu played Na Hye-won. Nam-jun’s involvement connected him to a series structured around corporate succession, class resentment, and shifting alliances rather than the survival-horror world of Sweet Home. The eight-episode show was released weekly from February 28 to April 3, 2024. It was directed by Min Yeon-hong and written by Choi Won.

Later that year, Nam-jun played Ji Sang-woo in MBC’s When the Phone Rings, adapted from Geon Eomul-nyeo’s web novel. Ji is a psychiatrist who also runs a true-crime YouTube channel. The thriller begins when Hong Hee-joo, the speech-impaired wife of presidential spokesman Paik Sa-eon, is kidnapped; a caller uses the abduction to threaten Sa-eon. Yoo Yeon-seok played Sa-eon and Chae Soo-bin played Hee-joo. Through these credited projects, Nam-jun has moved among historical political drama, monster horror, chaebol intrigue, and a kidnapping-centered television thriller. The series aired from November 2024 into January 2025 on MBC and Netflix internationally.
