Ugin, the Ineffable would greatly benefit a colorless or artifact-based deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it reduces the cost of colorless spells and provides card advantage through creating Spirit tokens and exiling cards. It can be a strong addition to decks focused on colorless spells and artifacts. While there may be other powerful planeswalker cards available, Ugin's unique abilities make it a strong contender for inclusion in decks that can take advantage of its cost reduction and removal abilities.

Once you look at the exiled face-down card once, you may look at it again any time you wish. If another player gains control of the Spirit token, that player can’t look at the exiled card.

To determine the total cost of a spell, start with the mana cost or alternative cost you’re paying, add any cost increases, then apply any cost reductions (such as that of Ugin). The converted mana cost of the spell remains unchanged, no matter what the total cost to cast it was.
