About Thunderkin Awakener

Thunderkin Awakener, Creature — elemental shaman, designed by Yongjae Choi first released in Jun, 2019 in the set Core Set 2020 and was printed exactly in 3 different ways.

This card would be a great addition to a red aggressive Elemental tribal deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it provides a way to recur Elemental creatures from the graveyard and attack with them immediately. While Thunderkin Awakener is a solid choice for such a deck, some may argue that cards like Flamekin Harbinger or Risen Reef could be better options depending on the deck's strategy and synergy. Overall, Thunderkin Awakener could definitely see play in the right deck, especially one focused on aggressive Elemental strategies.

Rules

07/12/19

If the new creature leaves the battlefield before the end step, that card remains in its current zone. It won’t be sacrificed.

07/12/19

The target card must have lesser toughness both as Thunderkin Awakener attacks and as its triggered ability resolves. Other abilities that trigger whenever Thunderkin Awakener attacks can’t raise its toughness in time to allow the ability to target cards with greater toughness.

07/12/19

You choose which player or planeswalker the returned creature is attacking. It doesn’t have to be attacking the same player or planeswalker that Thunderkin Awakener is attacking.
