Three Visits, Sorcery, designed by Qu Xin first released in May, 1999 in the set Portal Three Kingdoms and was printed exactly in 19 different ways. It see play in 1 formats: Commander.
A deck focused on ramping up mana quickly, such as a green-based ramp deck or a landfall deck, would benefit from using Three Visits to efficiently search for and put a Forest onto the battlefield. However, the card Nature's Lore is generally considered better as it has the same effect but can search for any non-basic Forest land, providing more flexibility. Three Visits could still see play in decks that specifically need a basic Forest and want redundancy in their ramp spells.

Because the “search” requires you to find a card with certain characteristics, you don’t have to find the card if you don’t want to.
