Opportunist, Creature — human soldier, designed by Dan Frazier first released in Oct, 1997 in the set Tempest.
Opportunist can be a valuable addition to a red aggressive deck that focuses on dealing damage quickly and efficiently. It works well in a deck with a lot of direct damage spells or combat tricks that can easily enable its ability to deal additional damage to creatures. While there may be better cards with similar effects, such as Lightning Bolt or Shock, Opportunist can still be a solid inclusion in the right deck as a versatile and repeatable source of damage. Its effectiveness ultimately depends on the overall strategy and synergy of the deck it's included in.
