Mystic Genesis, Instant, designed by Mike Bierek first released in Feb, 2013 in the set Gatecrash and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
A deck that focuses on controlling the opponent's spells and generating creature tokens would benefit from using Mystic Genesis in Magic: the Gathering. However, there are potentially better options like Mystic Snake or Frilled Mystic that offer similar spell-countering abilities with additional benefits, such as creature presence on the board. Mystic Genesis could see play in specific decks that prioritize token generation and spell disruption, but its higher mana cost may limit its overall effectiveness in competitive play compared to other more versatile options.

If the target spell is an illegal target when Mystic Genesis tries to resolve, Mystic Genesis won’t resolve and none of its effects will happen. You won’t get an Ooze token.
