About Keening Stone

Keening Stone, Artifact, designed by Jung Park first released in Apr, 2010 in the set Rise of the Eldrazi and was printed exactly in 5 different ways.

A deck that focuses on filling up its own graveyard quickly, like a self-mill or reanimator deck, would benefit from using Keening Stone in Magic: the Gathering. However, there are better cards for graveyard interaction, such as Glimpse the Unthinkable or Mesmeric Orb, which provide more efficient milling options. Keening Stone may not see much play in competitive settings due to its high mana cost and slower effect compared to other graveyard-centric cards available.

Rules

06/15/10

The value of X is determined as the ability starts to resolve. If the targeted player has five cards in their graveyard at that time, for example, this ability will put five more cards into that graveyard from the top of that player’s library.
