Frilled Oculus would be beneficial in a tempo or aggro deck in Magic: the Gathering, where the ability to pump it up for a quick boost in power can help apply pressure on the opponent early in the game. However, there are better options available such as Delver of Secrets, a versatile one-drop that can transform into a powerful flyer, or Tarmogoyf, a staple in green decks for its efficient power and toughness.
