About Epicure of Blood

Epicure of Blood, Creature — vampire, designed by Anna Steinbauer first released in May, 2020 in the set Core Set 2019 and was printed exactly in 7 different ways. It's a key card in 3 combos.

A deck focused on lifegain strategies, such as Orzhov or Esper control decks in Magic: the Gathering, would benefit from including Epicure of Blood. While it can provide incremental damage to opponents, there are more powerful lifegain payoff cards like Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose that offer more impactful effects. Epicure of Blood could see play in casual or budget decks, but competitive decks may opt for stronger options.

Rules

07/12/19

In a Two-Headed Giant game, life gained by your teammate won’t cause the ability to trigger, even though it caused your team’s life total to increase.

07/12/19

The ability of Epicure of Blood triggers just once for each life-gaining event, whether it’s 1 life from Impassioned Orator or 4 life from Dawning Angel. If you gain an amount of life “for each” of something or “equal to the number” of something, that life is gained as one event and the ability of Epicure of Blood triggers only once.
