About Containment Breach

Containment Breach, Sorcery — lesson, designed by Campbell White first released in Apr, 2021 in the set Strixhaven: School of Mages.

A deck focused on disrupting opponents' artifacts and enchantments, such as a green-based control or midrange deck, would benefit from using Containment Breach. While it offers versatility by providing a creature token if the target's mana value is low, there are more efficient options like Naturalize or Return to Nature that can provide similar effects without the conditional token creation. Containment Breach could see situational play in decks looking for additional value from destroying low-cost artifacts or enchantments.

Rules

04/16/21

Lesson is a spell subtype found on some instant and sorcery cards in the Strixhaven set. The Lesson subtype has no special rules associated with it.

04/16/21

If Containment Breach resolves, and the target artifact has a mana value of 2 or less, but it wasn’t destroyed (perhaps because it has indestructible), you will still create a Pest.
