About Confound

Confound, Instant, designed by Doug Chaffee first released in Feb, 2001 in the set Planeshift and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

This card, Confound, would be beneficial in a control or tempo deck that aims to protect its creatures and disrupt the opponent's strategy. While Confound is a decent option for countering spells targeting creatures and providing card advantage, there are arguably better options like Mana Leak or Spell Pierce that offer more versatile and efficient spell disruption. However, Confound could still see play in certain metagames or budget decks where its specific ability is valuable.

Rules

10/04/04

Confound doesn’t resolve if the targeted spell has been countered or does not still target one or more permanents that are still creatures and are still on the battlefield. Confound is different from other such spells in that it actually specifies that the spell must target a creature, not just be able to target a creature or that the spell has a certain number of targets.
