A control or tempo deck that focuses on card advantage and graveyard synergies would benefit from using Chemister's Insight in Magic: the Gathering. While Chemister's Insight is a solid card draw option with the added flexibility of jump-start, there are potentially better options like Fact or Fiction or Dig Through Time that offer more immediate value or selection. However, Chemister's Insight could still see play in decks looking for additional card draw and graveyard recursion options.

If an effect allows you to pay an alternative cost rather than a spell’s mana cost, you may pay that alternative cost when you jump-start a spell. You’ll still discard a card as an additional cost to cast it.

You must still follow any timing restrictions and permissions, including those based on the card’s type. For instance, you can cast a sorcery using jump-start only when you could normally cast a sorcery.
