About Bright Reprisal

Bright Reprisal, Instant, designed by Ryan Alexander Lee first released in Sep, 2017 in the set Ixalan and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.

Bright Reprisal would be a strong inclusion in a white control deck that focuses on removing threats and gaining card advantage. While it offers a solid removal option for attacking creatures and replaces itself by drawing a card, there are more efficient options like Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares that provide better value for the mana cost. Bright Reprisal could see play in limited formats or casual decks, but in competitive environments, there are likely better choices available.

Rules

09/29/17

If the target creature is an illegal target by the time Bright Reprisal resolves, the entire spell doesn’t resolve. You won’t draw a card. If, on the other hand, the target is a legal target but isn’t destroyed (most likely because it has indestructible), you’ll draw a card.
