While Battle Mastery is a solid card for granting double strike, other cards like Grappling Hook or Fireshrieker may offer additional benefits like trample or equip abilities, making them potentially better options depending on the deck's overall strategy. If a creature loses double strike after dealing combat damage in the first combat damage step, it won’t assign combat damage in the second one.
