About Angelic Field Marshal

Angelic Field Marshal, Creature — angel, designed by Scott Murphy first released in May, 2020 in the set Commander 2014 and was printed exactly in 4 different ways.

A deck that focuses on a commander-centric strategy, such as a Voltron or Commander-centric deck, would benefit greatly from including Angelic Field Marshal. The card provides a significant power boost to itself and grants vigilance to all creatures you control as long as your commander is on the battlefield. While there may be other cards that offer similar effects, such as Akroma, Angel of Wrath or Akroma, Vision of Ixidor, Angelic Field Marshal's cost-effectiveness and synergy with commander-focused strategies make it a strong contender for inclusion in such decks. It should definitely see play in decks that can take advantage of its abilities.

Rules

11/07/14

If a triggered ability granted by a lieutenant ability triggers, and in response to that trigger you lose control of your commander (causing the lieutenant to lose that ability), that triggered ability will still resolve.

11/07/14

If you gain control of a creature with a lieutenant ability owned by another player, that ability will check to see if you control your commander and will apply if you do. It won’t check whether its owner controls their commander.

11/07/14

Lieutenant abilities apply only if your commander is on the battlefield and under your control.
