The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 has received its final trailer ahead of its Crunchyroll premiere on October 2, 2026. The new season will once again follow Maomao, the brilliant apothecary who uses her knowledge to solve mysteries.The trailer also features “AIYOU,” the ending theme performed by Eve. The artist is known for “Kaikai Kitan,” the opening theme for Jujutsu Kaisen, as well as songs such as “Kaze no Anthem” from Witch Hat Atelier and “Fight Song” from Chainsaw Man.The season’s opening theme will be “Kumo wo Nuke Kaze Shita Watashi Dake,” performed by the Japanese rock duo Yorushika. The production had already revealed the song in its first main trailer, released in August. The new preview also offers a closer look at Shotei, a character who will play an important role throughout the third season, although details about his role have yet to be revealed.Unlike the first two seasons, the third season will be split into two cours. The first part will premiere in fall 2026, while the second will arrive in April 2027 as part of Japan’s spring anime season.The story picks up after the Shi Clan’s rebellion fails. The first part of the season will adapt volume 5 of the light novel, which takes place after Jinshi reveals his true identity. Maomao returns to work as an apothecary at Verdigris House, while Jinshi takes on his royal duties as the Moon Prince.Unable to administer the Outer Palace after his identity is exposed, Jinshi still keeps in touch with Maomao. The two will have to deal with the feelings developing between them while working together to investigate strange incidents in the farming villages of the north. The franchise also has a feature-length anime film and a live-action adaptation in development.
