Insidious: The Further has passed the $150 million mark at the worldwide box office. The sixth film in the franchise has grossed $155.2 million globally and is already playing in Brazilian theaters.In the United States, the horror film has earned $60.5 million. Outside the North American market, it has taken in $94.7 million across 66 territories. The result makes it the fourth-highest-grossing film in the franchise.The film has surpassed the total box office returns of the first and third installments in the series. Ahead of it are Insidious: The Red Door, with $189 million; Insidious: The Last Key, with $167.8 million; and Insidious: Chapter 2, which reached $161.9 million.Among international markets, Mexico leads with $9.5 million, followed by the United Kingdom with $8.7 million and the Philippines with $5.4 million. In the Asian country, the performance marks the fourth-highest gross ever for a film in the genre. Spain and Germany round out the top five markets, with $5.2 million and $3.4 million, respectively.In the U.S., Insidious: The Further opened to $25.3 million, above domestic opening projections of around $18 million. It currently holds a 57% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, while audiences gave it a C+ CinemaScore, the same grade received by The Red Door.The Insidious franchise has already surpassed $800 million at the worldwide box office. In the new installment, Gemma, played by Amelia Eve, discovers she can enter The Further and bring beings from that realm into the real world. Lin Shaye also returns to the cast.
