I missed these characters, but for a long time I couldn’t imagine them in the present day. Then, around my 40th birthday, they started talking to me in the shower. And, as you may remember, once this quintet starts talking, it’s pretty hard to get them to stop”- Lena DunhamDunham will executive produce the new episodes alongside Judd Apatow, Ilene S. Landress and Michael P. Cohen. Williams, Kirke, Mamet and Rannells will also serve as co-executive producers. Jenni Konner, who was Dunham’s co-showrunner and creative partner on the series, will not return. The episodes are planned for 2027, which will mark 15 years since Girls premiered and ten years since its sixth season ended. HBO has not yet said when that year viewers can expect to see Hannah and the other characters again.
