BLACKPINK’s Rosé has teamed up with Apple to unveil “New Trick,” a new single that will arrive in full on platforms on September 17. The partnership was announced on Wednesday (9), the same day the company officially introduced its new generation of smartphones.The track’s visual was shot entirely on the newly announced iPhone 18 Pro and is part of the “Shot on iPhone” campaign. The production was handled by Dave Meyers, the director who has previously worked with Sabrina Carpenter, SZA, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles and BLACKPINK itself.In an interview, Rosé said “New Trick” was created earlier this year, just two days after the Met Gala, held in New York. The song arrives amid anticipation for the next stage of the singer’s solo career, but it will not be the official lead single from her second album.The follow-up to “rosie,” Rosé’s first solo album, has not yet been given a title and is expected sometime in 2027. The artist explained that the track chosen to officially launch this new era will be released later.The collaboration with Apple places Rosé alongside other music stars who have also filmed music videos on iPhones. Selena Gomez shot “Lose You to Love Me” on an iPhone 11 Pro in 2019, while Lady Gaga used an iPhone to capture “Stupid Love” the following year.In 2023, NewJeans turned “ETA” into an official collaboration with the brand and filmed the music video using an iPhone 14 Pro. Olivia Rodrigo also used an iPhone 15 Pro to shoot “get him back!”. Later, The Weeknd captured “Dancing in the Flames” on an iPhone 16 Pro, and Dua Lipa took part in a behind-the-scenes campaign for the “Radical Optimism Tour” using the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone Air.
