About Tunneling Geopede

Tunneling Geopede, Creature — insect, designed by Tomasz Jedruszek first released in Oct, 2015 in the set Battle for Zendikar. It's a key card in 4 combos.

This card, Tunneling Geopede, would be a great fit for a red aggressive landfall deck in Magic: the Gathering, as it can consistently deal damage to each opponent whenever a land enters the battlefield. However, there are more powerful landfall cards like Scute Swarm or Lotus Cobra that might be more impactful in the current meta. Tunneling Geopede could still see play in a budget or more casual deck, but for competitive play, other options might be more efficient.

Rules

08/25/15

A landfall ability triggers whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control for any reason. It triggers whenever you play a land, as well as whenever a spell or ability puts a land onto the battlefield under your control.

08/25/15

If the ability has an additional or replacement effect that depends on the land having a certain basic land type, the ability will check that land’s type as the ability resolves. If, at that time, the land that entered the battlefield is no longer on the battlefield, use its types when it left the battlefield to determine what happens.
